Restoring natural habitats
Habitat Restoration
Lolldaiga Valley was formerly a working cattle ranch and while much of the land features beautiful natural habitat, many areas are degraded and require habitat restoration.
A core aim of the Lolldaiga Valley initiative is to restore the riverine forest, to stabilise eroded areas and to carry out extensive grassland restoration, increasing habitat for wildlife.
Partnerships have been formed with local communities who we are supporting with finance to create indigenous tree nurseries. We are actively seeking collaborations with conservation-minded neighbours to expand the habitat restoration focuses over time.
Lolldaiga Valley is also financing sustainable wood fuel plantations to alleviate pressure on natural forests within Lolldaiga Valley and elsewhere.
Indigenous Planting
The Lolldaiga Valley initiative has an ambitious vision to restore all riverine forests along the river area and watercourses over the next 20 years. We also want to restore the many acacia forests and grasslands to provide a mosaic of rich habitats for wildlife.
